Thanks for being you! It's voices like yours that we want to showcase at REtechSouth - strong, intelligent, and passionate. I think it's our responsibility to push each other to be better. The future of our industry depends on it.

Whether it's one Realtor pushing another or REtechSouth pushing Inman, the industry itself is the winner! I think there is plenty of room for conferences and ideas - the point is to adapt and get better together. It means nothing if our industry has a few agents doing things right. It means everything if a large number of agents step up and lead us into a new era of business models and success.

While I don't think there is any competition between REtechSouth ad Inman, I am proud that the deep South is now represented on the national stage for real estate innovation. Keep pushing and we will all be better for it!

Hey Mark,

From what I've seen, the REBarCamps, RETechSouth and Inman Connect conferences are all pretty different. So I think like Jay says, there's definitely room for all of us in the RE Conference space.

Actually, part of my goal this year for Inman News is to become more involved in these events. Sponsoring (still working on it Matt), speaking, helping however we can...

I think if we can all collaborate and build off each others successes, the sky is the limit. Everyone wins!

I, too, join in the bummedness. I am NOT going to miss next year's RETechSouth, for sure.

BTW-- Inman is actually going to be a sponsor of the event; so, yes, there is enough room in the tech world for everyone. :-)

Great interview with Brad. I think that Brad and Matt have a great philosophy behind RETechSouth, and just as I told them privately, I hope they have an awesome event in March! I like to see good people do well.

@Jay Thompson - so far Inman has been the premier conference destination, especially for those looking for a broad range of info (therefore many days needed). nothing wrong with that. but now, REtechSouth has a very different approach and has grabbed onto one desirable element and is driving deep showing that one area of interest can draw a crowd.

@Matt Fagioli - i'm definitely bummed about not making it but definitely looking forward to next time.

Jay, I think you are right on the money.
We're "king of the south" for sure.
REtechSouth has a very distinct feel.
Very different than anything else we've seen.

Why does there need to be a "Connect Killer"?? Isn't there more than enough space to have different conferences with different styles in different places?

@Missy Caulk - yeah, i wish i was able to go. family engagements have me in vegas for a reunion. luckily, i should be able to re-create the REtechSouth atmosphere with fire-eaters, dancers, roller coasters and gambling. i think brad did mention he was having all that at REtechSouth :P
